HURRICANE EARL BELIZE
Earl touched ground as a Category 1 hurricane on Thursday, 04 August.
Authorities distributed packages with food and water to the people affected, and also opened emergency shelters. Some 2,500 people were located in 94 emergency shelters, 164 are still sheltered. Earl affected 1,046 people in the departments of Quiché and Petén. 162 houses were reported with damages, and classes were suspended in the affected departments.

MÉXICO
According to the National Coordinator of the Civil Defense, at least 40 people died from the passage of the storm, mostly in the state of Puebla (29 municipalities affected). Earl left landslides and damage to houses and public infrastructure.
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Strong rains and winds affected the province of San Pedro de Macorís.
Some 100 houses and five business were affected.

35,574 small fires were reported in the departments of Beni and Santa Cruz, caused by the drought. 20,831 fire sources have been controlled in the country, due to the practice to burn pastures for planting new ones.

14 Cuban citizens were deported in Colombia to Cuba, while tens started their journey through the jungle of Darien, Panama, after the start of a plan against migration in Colombia. According to local authorities from the Turbo Municipality (border between Panama and Colombia) in three months near 8,000 migrants between Cubans, Haitians, from Asian Countries and Africans have passed by.
